Stock bolts and studs are fine for stock engines, but for high performance applications, their tendency to stretch and "give" can cause a multitude of problems, including blown head gaskets and demolished pistons. Our bolts and studs are made from grade 8 steel and will not stretch or break. These are made to order, so allow us a week or two to make a set up for you. In some cases, you will have to send an old stock stud (or studs) in for us to use as a pattern. Note that the studs will require flanged nuts. The flanged nuts distribute the load out evenly over a wider area than a normal nut or bolt head would do. On some British cars that were originally equipped with poor studs, we have developed improved bolts or studs to replace them.
